NOTD: Orly Charged Up

I did a rubbish job at the application of this polish but I was in a hurry due to the fact that the French manicure I had last weekend was looking a bit grim, and I really wanted to try this shade out.  This is two coats of Orly's Charged Up.  It goes on quite muddily on the first coat, but becomes more opaque on the second coat.

I believe the bubbling is due to the fact that I rushed application in between coats, although it's worth noting that I do think each coat took a strangely long time to dry and I'm not really sure why as I didn't apply it too thickly at any point. The finish is a slightly glossy cream with no shimmer.  

I had it in my head that this would be a navy blue, but it's more a dark, purple with blue undertones that definitely leans more purple.  It's actually very flattering against my pale skin.  

I'm not confident that my camera has picked up the purple in this polish as the pictures seem to bring out more of the blue, but it's definitely very purple!  

All in all, if you're not feeling the love for the brights and nudes that are currently trending, this makes a lovely, easy to wear alternative.
